BIO
Peter French is an artist, photographer, poet, writer, designer based in Kimberley, Ontario, Canada.
Their practice focuses on concepts of beauty, action, and emotion in whatever catches my heart or eye. They work primarily in all drawing media (graphite, chalk pastels, conte and charcoal) and watercolour.
Their work explores their connections to the world around them. They are ADHD with elements of autism – all of which influences their perceptions of the world and life. This leads to some interesting experiences and therefore, interesting art.
They have Formal training plus a lot of on-the-job-training.
Their work has been exhibited in group shows in several galleries, a personal show in a downtown Toronto gallery and Apples & Art / Art in the Valley and is held in a few personal collections.
Currently, they are exploring more dynamic expressions of fluid watercolours married with drawn elements. They are also extending the range of their palette so the overall effect is stronger, clearer.
They are interested in stretching beyond the real / normal into other modes of expression and visual experiences, and continue to develop their practice through studio work, always, while also seeking new collaborators and influencers.

Artist Statement
My current work emphasizes the dynamic power of fluid, loose watercolour whether abstract or more realistic. Subject matter will vary - a lot – but the exploration of loose watercolour will be very consistent. It gives me great joy when I am able to make it all work. Hopefully this experience will be shared by the viewers.
